Sweet Damper and Gossip Society: Low Tea on tomorrow!
As part of Primavera 2011, the Museum of Contemporary Art’s annual exhibition of young artists, Tessa Zettel & Karl Khoe are presenting a new project, The Delirious Bakery.
The Delirious Bakery is a site-responsive bakery that collects and dispenses dissent via recovered oral traditions. During its residency in the Clubs & Societies historic basement storehouse, the artists and guests will host a series of ‘low teas’, where tales about the darker side of The Rocks are exchanged with each sticky bun.
These sometimes slippery, contested and confronting histories will later be imparted to others from memory. Other operations of The Delirious Bakery may include sharing sourdough starter cultures, jams, recipes, language and cooking equipment.
