Come SafARI with us…
That’s right folks, The Rocks is now seaping with splendidness thanks to SafARI!
SafARI 2012 showcases artworks by 16 emerging and unrepresented Australian artists. Crossing disciplines of sound, performance, installation, sculpture, painting, photography and new media, SafARI’s 2012 artists are startling new voices in the contemporary arts landscape.
The 2012 artists are: Clark Beaumont, Chris Bennie, Tega Brain, Julian Day, Dara Gill, Julie Henderson, Julia Holden, Huw Lewis, Daniel McKewen, Rachel Park, Drew Pettifer, Kurt Sorensen, Adele Varcoe, Jodie Whalen and Elizabeth Willing.
An affiliate event to the Biennale of Sydney (BoS), SafARI provides a forum for discussion, discovery and professional development for emerging artists and arts workers throughout Australia. SafARI serves to highlight the grass roots aspect of contemporary arts practice in Australia, providing emerging artists with a platform to present new work to an international audience.
SafARI takes places across The Rocks, Kings Cross and a roaving bus. In The Rocks you can explore the festival through two Pop-Up spaces and various locations in the public domain. And if knowing where you’re going is your style, download the map here!
