WORKSHOP SERIES IN SEPTEMBER
Designing a feast: Ceramics for food
Tuesdays, starting 4 September, 6pm -9pm
If you love your food and are intrigued by ceramics, this one’s for you! Students will be taken through the design process to form a themed set of ceramic pieces into platters, plates or bowls for you next dinner party, pie night or afternoon tea!
Beginners Woodwork: Recycle Rebuild
Wednesdays, starting 5 September, 6pm -9pm
For all those who’ve always wanted to know how to turn unsuspecting planks of timber into useful, beautiful furniture. Students will learn basic woodwork skills, including preparing reclaimed timber for use, how to safely and confidently use basic tools, simple joinery techniques and finishing techniques.
Wax, carve and cast: Silver jewellery
Thursdays, starting 6 September, 6pm -9pm
Learn to design, layout, carve and finish a ring and pendant or brooch! This workshop is open to both beginners and advanced students. Learn fundamental metalsmithing and wax carving skills including saw piercing, filing and polishing.
Making 3 minute documentaries
Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 September, 10:30am - 5pm
Are you passionate about an issue, know a good story in your community or want to make a video about your work to promote yourself online? With technology being so cheap and accessible these days, anyone can become a DIY film maker. In this class, learn about telling factual stories; learn how to script, shoot, record sound and edit short documentary videos, including tips on characters, interviewing techniques and unearthing compelling stories.
