Evie Group is a Sydney based design studio founded in 2010 by industrial designers Alex Gilmour and Dominic Chong. Together they produce a range of award winning home wares, lighting and accessories. The philosophy behind the brand is to create designs that are carefully considered, elegant and timeless in their aesthetic.
The space will serve as Evie Group’s creative studio/workspace and will display their current collection. This will uncover details from the design processes involved from initial sketches to prototypes and final production pieces. The Rocks Pop Up is an opportunity to offer the public an insight into Evie Groups design practice and will also launch Evie’s new initiative; Evie Presents. Evie Presents is an approach which aims to support and promote local and emerging designers from a diverse range of design backgrounds. This will be an changing feature space within the store highlighting designers work and their methods to produce their pieces. There will also be an in-store sketching competition with live judging panel, allowing the public to experience the role of a designer in the conceptualisation stages of their work.
